Where did it all begin?

NCR Blinds, Curtains and Shutters has formed from the original Lorraines Curtains and Blinds. Lorraine originally started the Business in 1991 when she saw the need for a mobile Curtain service in Newcastle. Lorraine had extensive knowledge in the industry starting at the age of 14yrs at Johns Home Furnishings…it took a simple idea, starting off with 6 samples from Wilson Fabrics and a huge amount of passion to now 30 + years Husband and Wife Team Bob and Lorraine leading the way furnishing Residential and Commercial Windows in Newcastle, Upper Hunter and Sydney Areas.

A Legacy Passed On

This business has since been passed onto Lorraines daughter Michelle and Husband Joel. Michelle had always been a part of the family business but decided in 2011 that it was time to come back full time. Since then, Joel and Michelle have never looked back. Combined with their passion and former trades, Joel being a qualified Mechanical  Electrician in Project Management Roles and Michelle having a Degree in Communications has allowed the business to move forward to another level in Motorisation and Home Automation.

Michelle and Joel felt that the Business needed to reflect both residential and commercial presence hence calling it - NCR which stands for Newcastle Commercial & Residential – Curtains, Blinds and Shutters.

As any family business to date Lorraine and Bob are still around helping Joel and Michelle, it has been a lovely transition of the generations, traditions, knowledge and experience kept within the Family. We believe that this shapes the way for strong foundations to service our Clients incomparable to any other, setting the path as Industry Leaders within Newcastle.
