Warema External Venetian Blinds

Exterior sun shading of windows using Warema External Venetian Blinds reduces the heating effects of solar radiation by up to 90% to create relaxing, comfortable interior spaces. Unlike textile blinds external venetians can admit reflected light resulting in light-filled working or living spaces and reducing the need for artificial lighting throughout the day. An external view and connection to the exterior is maintained on demand through tilted venetian slats whilst privacy is preserved. When light levels drop external venetian blinds can automatically retract fully out of sight. This feature also provides easy access to the glass for cleaning.

The shallow curve of the blade surface perfectly complements the fine lines of modern architecture. Guiding the slats is achieved using slimline extruded aluminium rails or coated stainless steel cables. Warema blinds feature the most extensive range of custom components available to adapt blinds to any building application, as well as the largest color range and many innovative features such as self cleaning slats and silent motors. An extensive range of controls optimises the shading and daylighting effects by tracking the sun, and responding to other climate information. Driven either by a crank handle or integrated 24v motor. For simple applications, motorised blinds can be operated by a up-down wall switch or programmable remote control. Motorised blinds can also be operated by Warema basic centralised control systems or highly sophisticated control systems for major projects. Warema control systems allow automated functionality from simple up/down on a timer, to automated responses in environmental changes e.g. sun-tracking, wind threshold/direction, temperature, rain and many others.

Blade Profiles & Information

Rolled edge profile is the most popular style due to its concave-convex blade with the advantage of a rolled over edge for extra wind stability. The blade rotates through 160 degrees.

Flat blade profile features a fine edge slat that barely interrupts the view and stacks into a compact space. The blades are manufactured from a special flexible aluminium alloy that spring-returns to shape if deflected in wind.

Warema’s dim-out profile offers the rigidity of a rolled edge slat with a unique special interlocking shape that greatly reduces daylight. Each slat is formed with a rubber insert that creates a gentle seal between slats. Two slat widths and a range of tailored components allow dim-out blinds to adapt to a multitude of building types and construction methods.

Our cedar slat version offers the significant benefits of external sun shading combined with a warm natural appearance. Premium Western Red Cedar is coated with SIKKENS clear finish to enhance the natural colors and provide long lasting protection. Over time the color will soften to grey, harmonizing with other timber elements of the design.
